A Perth based transport company has embraced UD's new MK6 Automatic trucks to deliver better efficiency and performance in the increasingly busy suburban traffic of the WA capital.

Adlam Transport has been using UDs for the past decade and is currently operating a fleet of six UDs specialising in general freight and sensitive freight as well as office removals and shop fitting transport.

The company purchased the new MK6 Automatics to improve efficiency in the Perth metropolitan area and to reduce operating costs.

According to Paul Adlam, managing director of Adlam Transport, the new automatic UDs were the perfect solution for the company for stop start city operations and multi drop delivery runs.

"Adlam has built a reputation for delivering the best service possible with the most advanced and reliable equipment possible," said Paul Adlam.

"We initially purchased UD because of the strong reputation the marque had for reliability and dependability and over the past ten years the UDs have proven themselves in every way.

"Purchasing the MK6 Automatics was a logical progression because they offer the most advanced technology with UD's reliability and dependability," he added.

"The automatics have proven to be totally reliable and the drivers love them, they are so much easier in city traffic while from a durability angle they can't over rev the automatic and the drivelines will last a lot longer," said Paul.

"We have never had any problems with our UDs, and any minor things have always been rectified, we have always been well looked after by UD, the service has been fantastic," he added.

"We have tried other brands but we have found they just don't last as well as the UDs which I reckon have a quality edge on the other makes.

"The original UD on our fleet is ten years old and it looks like new particularly in the interior and I believe that is a sign of the quality built into them," he added.

"Adlam Transport has been able to offer our clients a very professional and personal service and we ensure our drivers all come from delivery and warehousing backgrounds to ensure an excellent delivery service.

"Adlam also provides a secure hotshot service to clients needing goods and equipment picked up and delivered anywhere, anytime, as quickly as possible.

"We provide this using our UD PK265 which was specially designed and built in Western Australia with a 14 pallet body and a lazy axle with full airbag suspension and 2000kg rear hydraulic tail lift service is provided under our new business name 'Signed, Sealed and Delivered'," Paul said.

"The PK265's long long-range capabilities make it ideal for this operation," said Paul.

Adlam uses its four MK6 Automatics and an older MK190 for its city operations including commercial and domestic furniture removals.
